Make them practice. Golf is a game and games are meant to be fun. Putt to a buck.
Tell them to keep their head down.
Give feedback after every shot.
Yes the key to leaning is feedback. Remember the cookie method, two positives mixed with one redirect.
Talk down to them. Get on their eye level and speak in an encouraging tone. Avoid standing over them and over coaching.
Remember not all communication is verbal, they can see you rolling your eyes or agitated shrugs.
Don't let them pound driver after driver. Have them hit it high. Low, make it curve the most right or left... Straightest to the target, closest to the target... Pick fun targets.
Don't buy the nicest complete set when they are starting out. Make sure they like the game and US Kids Golf has the best equipment for kids under 12.
Give them grandpas clubs, they are too heavy and too long!
Swear me curse, otherwise they'll come home with it. I once heard a pastor swear playing golf, I knew it was a hard game...
Cap the event off with a snack, we all like food
