Top 10 Things I Wish I Would Have Done as a High School Golfer.

Errors I see high school golfers make.
Wearing layers: you can't put on what you don't have. At least wear a hat to keep the heat from escaping out of your head when it's cold.

Club selection around the green. Pitt when you can, chip if you have to, pitch if you must and Lon when it's your only option.

Expecting to hit my best shot all the time and coming up short.

Hitting the ball as hard as I can, every shot. Why hit a hard six iron when you have a five iron in your bag? Goal is 80% and make solid contact.

Know your carry yardages, especially with the wedges.

Practice what they are already good at. Use the boxes and gates at Bluff Creek.

Understand that trajectory control is distance control.

No preshot routine or visualizing the shot.

Aim at the widest part of fairways and stop trying to hit it over trees and bunkers when you don't have to.

Play to the 80-100-yard markers rather than 40-80-yards.
